Our governance
The Department for Education is governed through its ministerial and senior Civil Service leadership. Its governance covers State Education, curriculum and qualifications, schools, colleges, higher and further education, safeguarding and the sponsorship or oversight of education bodies and local delivery arrangements.
Current ministerial offices and responsibilities are published in the List of Ministerial Responsibilities. Senior officials remain accountable for the administration, governance, risk and delivery of the department within the Civil Service.
