Our governance
The Department for Science, Innovation and Technology is led by the Secretary of State and supported by the Permanent Secretary and senior Civil Service leadership. The senior structure includes Directors General for Digital Foundations, Digital Products, Digital Transformation, Emerging Technology and AI, and Growth, Science and Intercommunity, together with the Government Chief Scientific Adviser, National Technology Adviser and principal corporate professional leads.
Current ministerial offices and responsibilities are published in the List of Ministerial Responsibilities. Senior officials remain accountable for the administration, governance, risk and delivery of the department within the Civil Service.
