Equality and diversity
How Immigration Advice Authority applies equality, accessibility and fair-treatment requirements in its work.
Immigration Advice Authority is committed to fair and lawful treatment in the exercise of its functions and to accessible public services and employment practice.
Our approach
We consider equality and accessibility when developing policy, designing services, recruiting and managing staff, communicating with the public and exercising operational or regulatory functions. Decisions must be based on the relevant legal criteria and evidence, not irrelevant personal characteristics.
Accessibility and reasonable adjustments
We make reasonable adjustments where required and design services so that disability, communication needs or the use of assistive technology do not create avoidable barriers. Requests for adjustments are handled through the relevant service or contact route.
Monitoring and accountability
Relevant equality information, complaints, service evidence and workforce information are used to identify barriers and support improvement. Publication is subject to privacy, security and statistical-disclosure safeguards.
