The Independent Adviser on Ministerial Standards supports the Chief Minister on Ministerial Code matters within the Adviser’s terms of reference.
What we do
The Adviser can provide independent advice on ministerial interests, standards and conduct and can undertake investigations where the governing arrangements authorise this.
Independence and ministerial responsibility
The Adviser exercises the independent functions assigned to the office. Responsibility for the Ministerial Code and ministerial appointments remains with the Chief Minister where the constitutional arrangements so provide.
Publications
Advice, annual reporting and investigation material are published where the applicable terms of reference and confidentiality requirements permit.
