How LL Passport Office is governed, sponsored and held accountable.
LL Passport Office operates within the constitutional, legal and public-administration arrangements applying to its institutional form and functions.
Accountability
The organisation’s senior leadership is accountable for lawful and effective administration, proper use of resources, risk management, records, security and delivery of its statutory or assigned functions. Where LL Passport Office is sponsored by the Interior Office, sponsorship does not permit interference in individual investigations, inspections, regulatory decisions, appeals or other functions that are required to be independent.
Governance and assurance
Governance arrangements provide oversight of strategy, performance, finance, risk, security, information handling and organisational capability. Delegations and decision records identify who is authorised to act. Material conflicts of interest are declared and managed.
Relationship with the Interior Office
The Interior Office maintains the appropriate ministerial, financial and sponsorship relationship. Operational or adjudicative independence is preserved wherever the organisation’s function requires it.
