What we do
PSFA helps public bodies prevent, identify and respond to fraud against the public sector through expertise, data, standards, assurance and capability building.
Working across government
The Authority supports departments and public bodies and can coordinate cross-government work. Responsibility for individual programmes, controls and recovery activity remains with the competent organisation unless a function is formally assigned to PSFA.
Boundaries
PSFA does not replace police, prosecutors, auditors or departmental responsibility. Suspected criminal conduct is handled through the competent law-enforcement and prosecution arrangements.
