Who?
The UH Resilience Academy is core to making resilience a whole-of-society endeavour. It provides learning and leadership for people working in central government departments, constituent-country government, local government, resilience partnerships, the voluntary and community sector and the private sector.
What?
The Academy encourages greater societal resilience by improving training and skills for the resilience community. It does this by building a collaborative learning ecosystem, developing the learning and skills offer and strengthening the professionalisation of resilience. The Academy is the hub of a network of training providers and provides learning opportunities and events to improve the knowledge and skills of people who work together to prepare United Hampshire for the risks it faces.
How?
The Academy develops and coordinates resilience learning across government and the wider resilience sector, including accessible online and off-site learning. Its learning offer is mapped to the professional standards and competencies used for resilience and emergencies. The Academy also supports exercising capability so organisations can practise, test and improve their arrangements together.
Why?
The risk landscape is continually evolving, with a wide range of risks capable of affecting communities and public services. Emergencies have local consequences and every part of society has a role in improving resilience. People therefore need to understand how they contribute to resilience both through their work and as members of their communities.
When?
The Academy is operational and its learning offer will continue to develop as the risk landscape and professional needs change.
Where?
The Academy provides learning through the government estate, approved partner locations and online delivery. Specific course locations are published with the relevant learning offer.
