Finding work and getting a referral

The National Employment Service can help you search for jobs, public service roles, volunteering and other recognised work opportunities in Havenstead.

Find an opportunity

Check the employer’s advert for:

  • the job title and duties
  • essential entry requirements
  • how to apply
  • the closing date
  • any selection or vetting requirements

For public service vacancies, search Civil Service Jobs and apply through the instructions in the advert. Other employers use their own recruitment services.

Get help from an adviser

An adviser can discuss your interests, experience and availability, identify potential opportunities and suggest training or other support. A suggested opportunity is not an offer of employment.

Referrals to another service

The National Employment Service may refer you to a training provider or another service if you need specialist help. A referral should explain why it is being made and what happens next.

Help with accessibility at work

If you face a practical barrier to eligible work, see Access to Work. The employer is responsible for its own reasonable adjustments.

For more information about the service, see National Employment Service.
